Screen Scale?
Screen Scale?
I never really grasped why screen scale matters in games. If I go above 100 for screensale, my FPS drops a lot. I’m trying to decide whether to set screen scale to its highest value and adjust graphics settings, or just stick to 100 for screen scale and let everything else run at full. It feels like I can’t really have both maxed graphics and maxed screen scale at the same time.
Screen scaling adjusts the game internally to the desired output resolution, multiplying the percentage accordingly. For example, a 25% scaling at 4K would result in rendering at 1080p and then upscaling to 4K. The exact purpose behind this behavior isn't clear, but possible reasons include achieving a borderless window without native resolution rendering for better performance, or enabling super-sampling AA when scaling exceeds 100%. Use the full scale unless it fits one of those scenarios.
