Screen on laptop appears distorted or malfunctioning.
I purchased a laptop from eBay knowing it had some damage, but it was only £50. I assumed the screen wouldn’t cause much trouble, though now I find it quite bothersome. I’m checking if there’s a way to fix it and whether the issue is related to poking it, which sometimes causes pixels to shift. A search reveals a connection to a Game Boy problem known as screen rot.
Could you capture a macro image of the issue? It seems there might be damage to the top anti-glare coating or a weakening of the adhesive. Sometimes peeling it off and cleaning with alcohol helps, but replacing the entire LCD assembly is usually the best solution.
It seems like the panel is damaged. This appears to be a laptop model. The new screen might be too costly, so you may want to consider another one.
