I tried to set up macOS Sonoma on my HP EliteBook 840 G3 using the 14.2.1 raw image from a torrent. The SHA1 checks out. I transferred it to an Intenso 64 GB USB stick, replaced the original EFI files with the official MOD EFI for Skylake, and accessed the menu offering Windows, macOS, and cleared NVRAM. After restarting, I encountered a black screen with a gray circle and line, and Apple’s startup security was disabled. I also tested other EFI files from Google Drive without success. What should I do?

My setup allows only Monterey, not the additional EFI from Olarila.
