Hello. I run DOOM at maximum settings with 1440p on a GTX 1080 and an ASUS PG278Q G-sync monitor. I notice tearing only during certain cutscenes, not in gameplay. Can you find a solution to stop it? (I have the in-game V-Sync enabled.) Also, changing between openGL and Vulkan doesn’t resolve the issue.

You're unsure if it helps, but it seems like the scenes are brief, so

It's disappointing, but pre-rendered cutscenes in games typically run at low frame rates and resolutions. Likely, Gsync's lowest acceptable refresh rate is around 30 Hz. Any variation such as 29.9 FPS could cause visible tearing.

The scenes play non-stop at a consistent 60 frames per second, whereas the rest of the game operates near 120 fps. This suggests the issue likely lies with the game itself rather than G-Sync.

It seems your idea is challenged by the game's frame rate. The consistent 60 FPS in cutscenes rules out that theory, especially since similar issues with lower FPS have affected top-tier PC titles for years.

I might misunderstand the 60 fps, I'll verify when I arrive, thanks!

You're facing the same problem on the same hardware, which is frustrating. It seems this was the top result when you searched for a solution. You might want to accept the situation and try other fixes.
