Screen green displayed but GPU fans remain inactive post-reboot
Hi, I recently relocated my desk with the PC mounted on it, and it powered up. After moving it, one monitor turned green and stopped working. After rebooting, there was no display left, and the GPU fans weren’t running. I’ve tested various PCIe slots and even swapped in another GPU (2060), which had fans spinning but still no screen. I’ve checked cables, connections, and other settings, but nothing seems to be fixed. My PC specs are: GPU Gigabyte 7800XT, CPU Intel 5700X, RAM 2x16GB Corsair, PSU Corsair 850W. I can fully install the GPU, it clicks in and everything looks normal when it runs, though it’s a bit dusty. Added this info to the photos for clarity. Edited April 11, 2025 by Baikal18
Take care of your computer; dust might have entered the PCI slots and disrupted the connection.
Maybe a quick jolt while shifting your desk caused it. I didn’t realize I needed to include that in the bio—just not sure if it matters.
Spoke with a friend who thinks it's my motherboard. I ran a PSU test using a wire and everything checked out. Placed an order for a replacement motherboard on sale, hoping things are resolved.
Sure, it might be a fried mobile phone. Fans should spin once the PC is turned on and connected to the mobile device.
