Screen going dark unexpectedly and randomly
Hi there, I just received my new computer and faced some challenges because the GPU was delayed. For a while it ran smoothly until I installed the new one: a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 TI LOW OC. It performed well until Minecraft started randomly freezing the screen. This made me think it might be overheating, but temperatures looked normal. I’m more worried about the motherboard fans—there’s an image showing them not spinning and getting hot. My specs include an AMD Ryzen 3 3900x, a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 TI LOW OC, 4GB RAM, a Gigabyte Aorus x570 Elite Corsair TX650 PSU, and a Tp-link Archer T4E adapter with wireless Wi-Fi. As a beginner, I really appreciate any advice or suggestions you can give. Thanks!
It's just a basic chipset fan. Most motherboards use passive cooling, meaning they don’t require constant power. Have you reinstalled the correct drivers after upgrading your graphics card? How do your CPU and GPU temperatures behave when the system is under stress?
The situation isn’t extremely stressful (as shown in the photo). Still, sometimes the CPU Vcore voltage spikes to 1,456V, which isn’t too surprising. I also just got a BIOS update for the motherboard and applied the latest GPU drivers from Nvidia as suggested on the Gigabytes website, but the issue remains unresolved. I haven’t removed any old drivers since I’m not sure how to do it, and I haven’t needed them before.
