While playing Ark Survival Evolved, you encounter a black screen, dimmed keyboard, and inactive mouse. Fans respond to volume changes but the CPU remains active. The GPU fan may not be visible, suggesting possible instability. This could stem from an unstable CPU overclock.

Can you access the game content? If everything works fine, it’ll really push your GPU to its limit. The optimization isn’t great. I’m sure if you can set FPS MAX around 30 before launching, you should be able to play. I’ve been through this myself—running an ARK server with mods and having my girlfriend assist with client setup shows how widespread this problem is.

Interesting. My GPU rarely exceeds 75% usage, usually staying near 50%. I don’t play on high settings since I spend a lot of time in PVP, and this hasn’t happened (or at least hasn’t happened often) today. I can’t play for 30 minutes without a crash that forces me to shut down the PSU and restart it.

Ensure default settings if you suspect your OC is unstable. You aim to check for the problem at stock to see if it's an OC issue or another matter.
