Hello there Smile, New here with a few questions about your setup. Linus seems to really like yall, so I hope you’ll find some guidance and advice. Your issue is this: when you enable HDR in Windows, the TV screen goes black and the audio becomes choppy. Once you turn it off, you notice tiny dots appear everywhere on the display, similar to static but layered over your desktop. Everything was fine before, but now it started happening again.

Details about your system:
- Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
- Version 21H2
- Intel i7 7700K @ 4.2 GHz
- Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB @ 3200MHz
- 500GB WDBlack M.2 SSD
- MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC
- Stock LG SK8800 TV
- MSI Z270-A PRO v1 (2016-12-15)

What you’ve tried:
- New HDMI cable
- Switched to DVI-HDMI (works without HDR)
- Tested other ports on the TV
- Reduced resolution in Windows
- Used an active DP to HDMI adapter
- Reset TV factory settings
- Checked different GPU ports

Possible causes:
1. Your graphics card might be failing
2. The cable you bought was underspecified despite being labeled HDMI 2.1
Help would be really appreciated ♥

Avoid using the driver file. Suggested steps: Get the newest driver from Nvidia, stop all internet access, restart in safe mode, delete the Nvidia driver with a utility, restart back to normal, then reconnect the internet.

This was really tough for me, but your fix helped a lot! Your support means a lot. I’m glad it brought me joy and that you’re doing good. Now I need to understand what caused the driver to act unexpectedly.

Sure thing! Here’s a revised version of your message:

Hey there! No problem at all—I'm here to help. These situations often arise when display issues stem from driver problems. Sometimes files might get damaged or replaced during an update, which can be one of the causes. I perform this process a couple of times a year, even without any issues, just to ensure a fresh driver install. It only takes about five minutes and it’s much better than dealing with driver-related problems. I really prefer clean installations. Thanks!
