Screen goes black repeatedly restarting
Pc boots normally, I can play games for about 10 to 20 minutes before it freezes and restarts repeatedly. I've replaced the RAM and motherboard without success. I checked the core temperatures before crashes, and the system stays within a 60-70 range, max around 78. I've visited repair shops many times but haven't found a fix. My PC has been with me since 2020, and this problem began in mid-November. The 64-bit Windows Home version is working fine. BIOS updates aren't available. Specs: ROG STRIX B550-F, Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 580 2x8, 16GB, 3600 MHz, Corsair Vengeance, Evga 600 80 Plus Gold, Samsung 970 EVO Plus. Update: PC now stops booting and shows black screens at startup.
The Event Viewer shows no clues about why the screen went black. The same issue appears in Safe Mode too. It seems to happen mainly while playing games, but other factors might also be involved. Have you attempted resetting the CMOS or adjusting your UEFI settings?
You're asking about what a loop means in this context. It could refer to something repeating continuously, like washing and rinsing repeatedly, or it might mean restarting Windows, launching the game, and then the process repeats after a short delay. If it's the latter, the PSU might be the culprit. Consider running stress tests—such as Prime95 for the CPU or FurMark for the GPU—to identify the issue. If one component triggers the loop while the other doesn't, focus on that part. If both do, the problem likely lies with the PSU.
Check the CPU temperature to ensure it's within safe limits and avoid overheating before any potential issues.
Didn’t review the event viewer logs; same issues appear in safe mode, often causing a black screen on startup. Likely related to the new motherboard installed yesterday. I haven’t reset the CMOS or reconfigured UEFI. It might help if I checked the PC after it was repaired today and confirmed everything was set up correctly.
After startup 55 to 60 seconds idle for 68 to 72 seconds, the system crashed.
