I am experiencing problems playing Call of Duty Ghosts and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on my PC. Both games freeze, ceasing to respond while maintaining a fully functional computer when I use Ctrl+Alt+Del. This issue is isolated to these two titles, as other games like Battlefield 1 and COH2 run without problems. I have already reinstalled graphics drivers using DDU, and COD: Ghosts ran perfectly for 30 minutes before the issue reappeared. I have not installed any new hardware or software in recent months.

Several recent updates have been released for Windows 10 version 1903 within the past few months; ensure you have applied both of them. Your failure to install a specific update indicates a problem with your updating process, as it contained important security patches and should always be installed promptly. If issues persist, investigate potential problems with the video cable, voltages, temperatures, and component/cable connections. Regarding specifications, while it's acceptable, certain CM PSU models are unreliable. Could you specify the exact model of your power supply? Additionally, try plugging the system into a different outlet; older buildings or apartments can sometimes cause power supply issues.

On Windows 10 build 1903, install the latest cumulative update released a few days ago. I previously experienced freeze screen crashes in Wolfenstein Youngblood and Gears 5, but these issues have resolved since installing this update. The release notes indicated that certain errors no longer occur, specifically the common false errors prevalent in 1903, including out of memory and GPU stopped responding.

I noticed I was missing a cumulative update and installed it. After launching the game and entering a trial match, the issue reappeared. The screen froze approximately one minute into the game.

Begin by inspecting loose component connections and cables, assessing the video cable for faults, and executing malware scans and SFC scans. Subsequently, disable startup programs individually to test functionality after each disabling. Examine potential component failures related to voltage and temperature readings. Consider reinstalling your GPU driver, ensuring it's the most recent version, and verifying that all games have their corresponding Redist files (including DirectX and Visual Studio) installed. Recognize that conflicts from recently installed devices or software—even codec issues during cutscenes—can trigger these problems. Utilize Malwarebytes for advanced threat removal (https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium/). To run SFC on Windows 10, follow the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...le-checker. Providing your system specifications will enable me to offer more targeted advice.

I removed the programs, and my slow download speeds mean it will take a day to re-download each one. I will update you on my progress. Before that, I will perform several security scans and verify all system settings.

Only two games are experiencing this issue, suggesting potential file corruption. Please try reinstalling them to see if that resolves the problem. If you're using Steam versions, you can perform a file integrity check without reinstalling.

I removed and reinstalled the game, and upon launching and playing a match, the issue persisted. Event Viewer indicated that iw6mp64_ship.exe version 1.0.0.1 ceased interacting with Windows, resulting in its closure. The process ID was 34f0, the start time was 01d5802a65e40766, and the termination time was 4294967295. The application path was C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Ghosts, and the report ID was 897617f3-80d4-4c2f-8eb3-a13106290ea7. The faulting package full name and relative application ID were not available. The hang type was idle at the top level window.

System specifications: Windows 10, Intel Core I7-4770, G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x8GB DDR3-1600, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 TI, Coolmaster 750 Watt (purchased five months ago due to budget constraints).

The system is malware-free. A System File Checker scan identified and repaired the .NET Framework (as logged in CBS logs). The issue persisted after this repair while gaming.
