I resolved the fsck status code 8 issue by editing labels for both the EFI and ext4 partitions. It was actually a bit of a mix-up—I ended up writing this in Ubuntu. My current configuration includes an LG TV Monitor via HDMI (good with dedicated graphics), a VGA setup from Lenovo (works with integrated graphics), and a DVI connection from Lenovo (not working, needs dedicated graphics). It seems the power supply might be the problem, as it struggles to display more than one monitor despite being decent. The PSU is an Aerocool VX-650W, which isn’t ideal, but it functions in Windows. I tried a fix from @Lukyp, but the /etc/default path was missing a directory. It’s frustrating, but progress is coming.

It's suggested to test kernel settings inside grub first (using the E key), then apply them to /etc/default/grub. Once verified, use sudo nano /etc/default/grub. Reminder: enable SSH for this process.

I attempted this, but I’m still encountering problems. The Ubuntu installation is functioning properly, though I’m having difficulties with multiple monitors. The DVI connection seems to be the issue—there are no flickers on the HDMI display. I’m not sure what you meant by 'kernel parameters,' and I’m hesitant to run the sudo nano command until I’m confident in my approach.

Current terminal window, I'm not sure what you're doing right now, but you should also have refreshed the grub using "update-grub".

I tried the command: sudo update-grub. A helpful discussion was found, though it didn't fix the issue.

This earlier entry lacked adequate hardware backing from AMD GPU.

I found the solution in a discussion recommending rolling back an Ubuntu release. After restarting and navigating to advanced startup, switching from version xxxx.39 to xxxx.20 resolved the issue instantly with no flickering. This suggests the newer Ubuntu release might have driver problems. It seems uncommon, but it worked for me. The audio drivers functioned perfectly, indicating a more stable version. The fix I tried earlier also helped.

It seems unclear what's happening. I'm not sure if there are different kernels in "advanced startup" or if a downgrade is possible. Could you check the driver loading order first?
