Screen black in BIOS, issue appears during startup.
I found an issue with my setup today. I have a Ryzen 5 5600G and an RTX 3060 Ti, and while I enjoy gaming, I’m not seeing the expected frame rates. A benchmark showed my CPU and GPU usage staying under 50%, but my FPS is still low. I thought updating my BIOS might help, but it doesn’t work—my screen just goes black. I’ve tried changing from DisplayPort to HDMI and other fixes. I need to update the BIOS myself, so if anyone can assist, I’d really appreciate it.
Here are some quick clarifications you might need:
- BIOS settings?
- Storage type (HDD or SSD)?
- Power supply unit active?
- PBO and EXPO features enabled?
- RAM quantity and rate?
- Cables connected to GPU instead of the motherboard?
- GPU correctly installed?
- How do you reach the BIOS menu?
- Is the BIOS screen loading image disabled?
- Does the system fail to boot into BIOS at all?
- Can you connect the monitor directly to the motherboard during BIOS access attempts?
Let me know if you want to dive deeper into any of these!
the gpu temperature is around 60 to 70 degrees celsius while the cpu stays similar, so overheating isn't a big concern. i'm using a 500gb ssd, have 16gb ram at 3200mhz, and the display cable is connected directly to the gpu. when i plug it into the motherboard it doesn't work at all. i bought this prebuilt pc, but it doesn't boot properly—spamming del or f1. after checking advanced startup options and restarting that way, it just shows a black screen.
I noticed the BIOS version resembles F1, suggesting it's the original release. It likely requires an update, though I'm unsure how to proceed without loading the BIOS. Your motherboard model is the B550M DS3H.
That is a strange one, might indeed need a bios update, though im not sure either if you cant access bios to begin with
