I've recently created a new version in the past week, but I'm facing a problem where activating sleep mode causes the screen to freeze whenever I move the mouse or press keys. After waiting 15-20 seconds it restarts, but it becomes blank again as soon as I start interacting with it. This issue appears on my latest Windows 11 installation, and I've tried updating the GPU drivers and even reinstalled Windows thinking a previous setup might be faulty. Despite having the essential software installed, I'm unsure what setting or configuration is missing. My build includes basic tools like Mobo, GPU drivers, Notepad++, 7Zip, Steam, Firefox, but I'm struggling to pinpoint the cause or fix it.

Could the issue occur when you also tap the desk or touch the cable behind the monitor? It might point to a faulty HDMI/DP cable or the monitor itself.

You're experiencing the same problem with your AMD GPU, and you're trying to resolve it by turning the monitor off and on manually via the power button. It seems like the issue might be related to your operating system, possibly Windows.

Loose cable? If restarting resolves the issue, then the problem likely lies in software settings. Fixes might involve reinstalling graphics drivers or adjusting advanced power options to alter sleep/hibernate behavior. I've experienced this with a laptop—when it would hibernate properly but the screen wouldn't wake up without a restart, I switched from time-out/low battery to hibernation instead.

Same problem on my main monitor. It only occurs when the PC is in sleep or at least on the lock screen. Using 9800X3D with 5080. No issues with the 3090. Believe it’s a Windows/nVidia 5000 driver problem.

I've attempted to re-seat my GPU several times and changed power connections multiple times without any improvement. With a dual monitor configuration, both displays go dark simultaneously when I switch them off, indicating a potential issue. Everything else on my system remains consistent with my previous 5900x/3080ti build. I'm considering disabling sleep as a temporary fix. My concern is that one of my monitors uses QD-OLED technology and I often forget to turn it off before leaving the room. Intuition suggests this might be a Windows-related bug, since I can play for eight hours without issues but experience problems once sleep is enabled. Currently, there aren't many resources beyond reinstalling drivers, which hasn't resolved the problem for me.

I tried bypassing sleep by going straight to hibernation, but it didn’t help. The same problem appeared when exiting hibernation. My quick fix was to revert to the old method—disabling sleep, using hibernation, and setting a blank screen saver. I plan to keep testing new Windows updates and drivers in the future, hoping to resolve this permanently once they’re available.
