I9-13900f, RTX 3080, PRIME Z790-P, G-SKILL DDR5 6000MHz, Corsair RM1000e PSU, Windows 11 64bit over the last couple of weeks. Some games like Destiny and BeamNG DNG show black screens while others such as CS2 remain stable. My monitor stays on but I can't connect to the screen without restarting. I've disabled XMP, updated drivers, done a clean Windows install, used just one monitor, and kept GPU temps below 73°C. During stress tests with Time Spy and Steel Nomad, frame rates dropped steadily from 100.80 to 76.99 FPS, ending at 1110 MHz. The GPU temp stayed under 73°C, but the stability fell sharply. It seems the GPU might be nearing its limits or experiencing thermal throttling. Is it just the beginning of its end?

Install a fresh GPU driver setup. Retrieve DDU, remove your GPU drivers during safe mode without an internet connection, then visit NVIDIA’s site or their app to download the newest drivers. If issues persist, consider running FurMark to check for overheating hotspots affecting performance.

After running a test for 10 minutes, I observed the following metrics. The temperature stayed around 70°C, with a hotspot reading 104/105. Usage was mostly at 98%, VRAM usage was low at 8%, and power consumption was 78% with a TDP of 291W. Both fans were running at full speed now. I’m not very familiar with computers, so I’m wondering if the hotspot is actually causing the issue here.

What score did you achieve? Your average FPS was decent. It seems your power might be limited—3080s typically draw around 350 watts. That could be the cause. Inspect your GPU's power connectors and PCIe connections, ensuring they're securely connected. Regarding temperatures, it's uncertain, but a high VRMS might be the issue. Consider rewiring and adding more cooling if needed.
