Last weekend I achieved 14k graphics in Firestrike, but my scores have dropped to around 13k now.
My GTX 970 runs at 2048 mhz on the core clock and 1,554 MHz for memory speed.
I've attempted to run the same OC and lower other settings, but I can't reach 12k anymore.
What's causing this issue?
I tried uninstalling my drivers, which helped somewhat. I also re-seated the GPU and connected it again to the motherboard.
Do you know how I can get back up to my previous record?
I think you are misremembering your score. Maybe your ran a different test? This highest score with your processor/card is 12,539 on Firestrike. Here's a comparison:

If you are happy with your actually gaming experiences, I would say don't worry about it. You aren't far off from the number 1 overclocker with a similar rig.
