My favorite horror titles are always No Man's Sky. Check the trailers and interviews first to understand the story, then be shocked by how much it falls short of what was promised. In a more serious tone, if you're not using headphones, I recommend playing them with one and revisiting the games you've already enjoyed.

I’m looking to connect to an Oculus headset, but spending $500 feels like a big investment, particularly when I’m working on a loop and need to replace the graphics card.

Haha, I was thinking about something else entirely—just headphones, not a VR headset. I guess I should have been clearer from the start!

The game is considered a waste of time, yet it's worth the cost.

I mostly concur! I really enjoyed the third game, and I also played the co-op version. Such a great series!

For a less intense start, I’d recommend beginning with Resident Evil. If you’re seeking something more intense, Amnesia is worth considering but in moderation. Outlast and Outlast 2 offer darker experiences, while The Evil Within provides a different atmosphere.

I recently revisited levels one and two of the series and really enjoyed it. Level three leans more toward an action FPS than horror, and I found it quite challenging as well. Both Outlasts and The Evil Within are excellent titles. I’ll give the RE games another shot, except for level seven—those controls felt a bit awkward, maybe I just needed some time to adjust?
