I've checked the router's configuration and noticed a few oddities. After some testing, it seems the AP was briefly running WPA-PSK before reverting to WEP. The issue might be tied to the specific model or firmware version of the combo modem. Have you encountered similar behavior with other routers in your setup? It could help to verify if the device is compatible with the current network settings or if there are any known bugs affecting this particular model.

The specification varies by context; it could refer to WPA3 Mixed-mode supporting both WPA2 and WPA3, or WPA2 operating in mixed modes. Using WPA2 Mixed-Mode is discouraged because it permits outdated, insecure connections.

The interface was quite minimal. My equipment supports WPA2, so the problem shouldn’t affect me. I’m conscious of it, but I can’t influence it. I believe the choice should focus on the most compatible devices overall.

It seems the system works with mixed modes, but you’ve noticed compatibility issues before. In WPA2 AES mode, forcing that setting can sometimes resolve connection problems.

The signal quality could be affected by obstacles or poor antenna setup.
