SC Freez in Vanduul Swarm.
SC Freez in Vanduul Swarm.
Hi, I wanted to commit for SC and tried the game during the free period. The issue is... my frame rate is around 40 to 60 fps in univers mode 60 in free flight 60 in vanduul, but in regular freez it drops to 5 seconds or less in vanduul. The game runs smoothly with perfect performance and looping sounds that return to normal. Someone please let me know about this problem – maybe a solution exists? I’m unsure if I should pledge 80€ if it keeps happening. My PC specs: i5 4690K, 4.5GHz GTX980Ti SC+ 1455/1900Mhz, 16GB CL8, 1600MHz, playing on SSD RAID 0 at 2560x1080.
If it occurs in the larger waves I might describe it as a CPU bottleneck, though the issue remains consistent across the game and works in all other settings even with a 12 threader like mine. Currently there’s no permanent solution, but given how fast they’re breaking bugs these days you might be lucky to catch it in the upcoming updates. You could experiment with modifying game.cfg first, then revisit that section later. > Found something useful, though it doesn’t fully match your situation. Worth trying.
It seems the problem started when the initial group of Vanduul arrived, which is why I've experienced this since the first patch update. If it continues beyond that point, you might want to investigate further.
It's quite unpredictable sometimes, occurring frequently or infrequently. This affects the experience a lot. The issue can appear in just a few seconds and then return to normal at 60 frames per second.
That was a server hiccup. You caught an explosion right after that. This usually occurs when the player shooting has lag and the server isn’t sure if the hit was real. You might also have seen your score for shots being delayed. The same issue happened to your client, who had to wait while the server processed the hits. Also, I just played a game where a Vanduul exploded without reason, and the game crashed after just five seconds of lag. Keep in mind we’re doing alpha testing.
It makes sense you're weighing the situation. With a slow connection, it's hard to decide between staying or giving up. The cost of rent is high in France, and you've been waiting since 2014 for your fiber internet to be active.
It's mainly about improving performance, and that will get better over time. They're currently using a Google compute center in the USA, which causes slow responses for European users, but this should improve soon. Unfortunately, we'll have to manage this situation until then.
If it gets fixed, it would be nice then I'd support an Avenger. You can't consider me part of SC anymore!
