I suggest single-player titles—completing them feels more rewarding. Trying games like Dota can lead to habit formation; once you stop, it’s hard to regain interest. On the other hand, consider Witcher 3, Fallout (versions 3, 4 or new Vegas), Life is Strange, South Park: Stick of Truth, Prey, Dark Souls 3... These are just a few options.
