I attempted to increase the clock speed in the BIOS, but it proved quite difficult. I kept the processor at 4GHZ through AMD overdrive settings, and after restarting, it remained stable. However, when I powered down the computer for an extended time, it returned to its original performance levels. What should I do to ensure this setting is preserved?

AMD overdrive is quite poor compared to BIOS. I suggest you just learn it, it's really simple and you don't need to limit yourself too much because of your age. You're very capable of overclocking that CPU, just don't set the voltage above 1.5. 😛
Even 1.5v is safe but only for a short time. Make sure to double-check the numbers before applying them.

Through the BIOS there are many videos with step-by-step instructions on how to do this. It's actually quite simple, just adjust a few settings until everything works properly. You're likely trying to overclock a CPU from the FX series. A helpful video would be great—check out the one at https://youtu.be/MckeAmnDeTk.

Yes, I'm only 14 and it's really tough using the Bios. I just tried and accidentally got 1.5 volts, which made me think I damaged my FX 8300 processor for a second. I spent the last hour opening up my PC to reset the CMOS. I'd rather stick with AMD Overdrive since it's much easier.
