It's frustrating when a device can't recall a previously connected Bluetooth mouse and needs manual pairing each time. I'm looking for a solution so it can remember and connect automatically when it's nearby. Do you have any ideas or alternatives? I also want to know if the operating system can recognize the same device without requiring constant setup.
The issue stems from a confusing display where two identical devices appear. Often I need to remove the device entirely from memory before it works properly. Try unpairing or deleting it completely, then restart and attempt to pair again. Updated April 12, 2022 by An0maly_76 Added more details
These mice generally retain various paired devices, which might indicate inconsistent slot selection. Additionally, this specific model appears to reset all pairing data whenever transitioned to BT mode.
I've faced similar issues before. I ended up swapping out the Bluetooth/WiFi card for a USB version and it worked perfectly. No more troubles there. LOL. Regarding the mouse and keyboard, I'm not sure the PC's built-in BT is the best choice. My Logitech K520 works fine on its own with its own receiver, and I haven't tracked how long I've used it. It always connects reliably. Makes me wonder if your mouse might have a problem. Edited April 12, 2022 by An0maly_76 Updated with more details
It seems there are two mouse entries in your Bluetooth settings, indicating recent changes. You can use Apple's Bluetooth Explorer to view more details such as the address. A screenshot is available on my device. I believe each mouse instance shows a unique BDADDR, which might explain why your Mac perceives it as a brand-new device.
This could happen because the mouse creates a fresh BDADDR each time Bluetooth is activated, even if the device name stays consistent. I’ll check Apple’s Bluetooth Explorer for help. For MacOS beginners, there are tools like Bluetooth Connect or built-in utilities that might simplify pairing and automate connections.
