good day, how can I back up the tab groups in the Edge browser in a Windows environment so they don't get lost? I accidentally lost them months ago . Is there a way to back up the data — say , every few days —so I have and can preserve these collections and avoid having to restore them from scratch every few weeks ? I look forward to hearing from you . BTW— this is a computer in a corporate environment , and it's configured quite rigidly . I have no idea whether I need any kind of admin rights for this . look forward to hear from you regards

Yes, you want to maintain a collection of tabs you've organized together.

By "BACK UP" do you mean to maintain the tabs active or to quickly launch them without keeping the browser open? You can save the pages as bookmarks and then use a mouse button to open all tabs inside the folder. Alternatively, you can terminate the process through Task Manager, though this requires access and may not work in all environments.

I’m unsure if the session buddy is present on Edge, but it works with Chrome. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+D to save all tabs in a window.

Hello OddOod, dear yOur4j4dOw amd Whispous, first of all: thank you so much for your response and for sharing your insights, ideas, and experiences. @whispous Your kind words mean a lot - hmm... I’d like to organize things in groups, just like the image below shows (taken from SO). That would be great if I could store the tabs in a structured way. (Thanks!) @OddOod You’re doing your best to understand. Would using Ctrl+Shift+D help? I’ve done some research: to clarify my point, my goal is to save or back up the tab data in a specific format. I want to keep everything in bookmarks and figure out how to restore it from the folder back into the tabs. Looking forward to your advice.

It's a pretty tricky issue. You're probably thinking about forms that reset when the page refreshes, wiping out your input. The challenge lies in the variety of ways developers build these forms, making it hard to find a reliable solution. I've discovered several extensions for Chrome that claim to save forms, but they mostly have conflicting reviews—most rate them low or high due to inconsistent performance across different sites.

I think you're trying to figure out where to find the right Microsoft Edge files. It seems the %temp% folder is likely where browsers save information about tabs they open. The %appdata%/edge path might also hold relevant data. Just check those locations to see what you need.
