I own a sapphire DualX OC (oc my ass) R7 370 with 2GB RAM, so I installed the official Sapphire overclocking utility, adjusted all sliders to maximum and pressed apply. The computer crashed immediately. Then I tried shifting it slightly and ran a quick NovaBench GPU test, but it failed right away, showing blackouts and only 2-3 frames per second. Nonclocked cards usually hit around 1000fps, but even a tiny touch of GPU or memory clock in Trixx causes crashes. What’s the issue? Should I switch to another program? Is this card considered defective due to these problems, and can I return it to the store? The graphics card is working fine for gaming, but I want to boost it a bit to improve frame rates in games where I’m having trouble. I recently received ARMA3 as a gift from a friend. While it’s downloading, I’m exploring overclocking options because I suspect it won’t run smoothly at higher settings with low resolution and all other features disabled. My system has an Athlon 760k processor on an MSI A75P33 board with 8GB DDR1600 at 1GHz. I’m increasing the clock multiplier in the control panel from MSI, but nothing is overheating yet. Still, I haven’t found a good free benchmark tool. The PC marked it as uninstalled after five minutes when it froze during an HDD test (which I don’t want to repeat, since many drives are still working). In the free version, I can’t select what I want to test. The CPU benchmark gives me just a single-digit number after five seconds.

Boost the voltage, which will let you raise the speed but also raise the temperature

No, I understand. Any contact with even a small amount of the correct area causes it to crash, including when voltage is present.
