Hey everyone, this external SSD has been working perfectly for over a year and a half, consistently delivering top transfer speeds. Occasionally it would slow down to around 2MB/s for several minutes or longer, but it would still perform well. Recently, it's become much slower—sometimes starting quickly at high speeds, then dropping to near zero for 30 to 90 seconds or more, pausing completely for 30 to 60 seconds, and then finishing abruptly. I'm also facing a problem with my T7 shield. Looking for a solution? I've checked speeds between 400 and 150 Mb/s. It's been several months since the drive was idle—possibly 7 to 9 months. I've changed ports, cables, computers, updated firmware, cleared files, and emptied the bin, but it still lags under 2 MB/s. I suspect the file cache might be the issue, though I'm unsure how to fix it. I ran quick performance tests with Magician and standard Windows diagnostics, both normal. No clear direction now. I'm planning to keep researching file caches before deciding to format the drive if necessary.
