Hello! I understand you're checking if the RAM you found is genuine or counterfeit. Could you share more details about the product and images so I can help you better? Thank you!

It seems typical DDR3 SODIMM from Samsung, so red flags would include mismatched specifications, unusual packaging, or inconsistent branding.

Search online for the model code to verify its presence and compare the images. We’re limited in accessing any exclusive Samsung records.

Are those unmarked memory chips a warning sign?

The data on memory chips isn't very durable; it's simple to scratch off. What I see is that the stick was probably put in a laptop only a few times. Likely, the lighting conditions are poor, making it hard to read the labels. It might be a little dimmer, but it doesn’t really catch my attention.

The view is affected by the light angle. There appears to be some wear or corrosion on the stick.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'll consider it, as the seller is asking for $30...

The price of an 8GB DDR3 stick is quite high. You can usually find "brand new" options on eBay for less than $20 in the United States regularly. It might not be from Samsung directly, but it doesn’t really matter much.

Someone might invest effort in creating fake low-quality DDR3 laptop RAM to test their own system, demonstrate issues, or even scam others for profit.
