Hi everyone, I was wondering if this should be categorized under laptops since more folks here use Linux. I really like the design of this Samsung Chromebook: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-gal...of=openbox But I’m not sure about running ChromeOS. Can Linux be installed on one of these devices? I searched online, but it seems there are some challenges beyond just a clean install.

Choose from this selection for a Chromebook running Linux. (GalliumOS is a customized version of Ubuntu tailored for Chromebooks) Be aware that many features may not be supported.

ChromeOS now includes Debian features. You must turn it on, which gives full command-line capabilities. This allows you to use Linux desktop applications alongside Android and Chrome apps.

It's definitely a yes for an Intel laptop. The chances of missing drivers are low these days, except possibly for certain Chromebook models that need more work. It varies by device type, but your chosen model should work fine.
