so, here it goes: I've been dual booting with manjaro xfce and windows 10 using the refind boot loader in an effort to initially try out manjaro, and subsequently switch to linux and run anything that doesn't run in it via virtualization. I have run into problems with virtualization pre-monitor upgrade, but that is for another topic. I have hit a snag. being relatively new to linux and refind, I'm hoping it's just me being daft. When I use my manjaro boot from refind or via manually booting from the bios, since switching to the Samsung C49RG90 monitor, I just get a blank screen with the monitor trying to initialize over and over. this isn't limited to manjaro, I tried booting live cds of various distros I was looking to try out in due course. none of them seem to boot after the bootloader screen. I know that my installation boots with my previous monitor (asus 4k thing, I forget the model. it was an early one that boasted 60hz at 4k). with just the old monitor connected, it boots up to manjaro just fine. with both monitors connected it boots up manjaro on the old monitor, and keeps trying to initialize the displays on the Samsung C49RG90. I tried asking in the manjaro irc on multiple occassions, and nobody had anything helpful to say about it. is this monitor just beyond linux? I figured since it was an arch based distro it would just work out of the box. thankyou for reading my wall of text, any help would be greatly appreciated^^
