Uncertain about what you're referring to. Did I grasp your message correctly? Confirm if you meant connecting a drive to SATA port 3 or 4, as that could affect the second M.2 slot. Also note that the second M.2 slot operates at half the PCIe Gen3 speed, whereas your drive uses PCIe Gen4, resulting in an overall 1/4 speed. Edited March 24, 2024 by leclod

I don’t understand the problem. During the steps, the M2 drive was detected immediately, yet my was a Samsung 980 Pro.

Thank you for your confirmation. Apologies for the lack of clarity. I intended to test the new drive in both slots, using and without the existing drive. Even with just the new drive (990pro) in either slot, it didn’t show up in my BIOS or during a fresh Windows installation.

Here is the complete process for setting up Windows on an NVMe storage.
1 - Ensure all SATA and USB devices are disconnected; only the M.2 drive should be active.
2 - Navigate to BIOS settings, locate the CSM option and ensure it’s turned off.
3 - Select the secure boot setting below and choose a different operating system, not Windows UEFI.
4 - Open key management and remove any existing secure boot credentials.
5 - Use a USB drive containing a bootable Windows 10/11 ISO with UEFI support.
6 - Press F10 to save changes, exit, and restart the computer.
7 - Windows will begin installation using its built-in NVMe driver.
8 - Upon rebooting, press F2 during startup to access BIOS and adjust boot priority so Windows appears first.
9 - Revisit secure boot settings and set it to UEFI mode.
10 - In key management, install the default secure boot keys.
11 - Press F10 again to finalize installation and close the process.
After setup, power off the system and reconnect the remaining drives.

I attempted it gradually, but it keeps refusing to grab it.
