I've reviewed the latest update... but I'm curious about how it holds up for gaming too. Do you have any insights from your experience?

Results should remain consistent except during thermal throttling, which reduces heat output. You're only adjusting the power delivered to the CPU, keeping its speed unchanged.

I recently attempted to lower the voltage for some experimentation, but my motherboard (MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus) won’t let any adjustments be made—especially not the core voltage. Perhaps someday it will work.
