Hello, this is my first time posting here. I’ve run out of clear ideas to resolve this on my own. I’ll do my best to clarify things. I’m not very tech-savvy, so please be patient. I’ll briefly describe the problem and share my details, then go through all the steps I’ve tried to help understand what’s going on. I apologize if this is too long. The main issue started in November 2024 and has been happening intermittently. I’m sorry I didn’t investigate earlier; I just got lazy.

The core problem is this: whenever I do anything normal—watching YouTube, playing games, idling—I suddenly lose both monitors. If audio plays, it stutters endlessly. The fans spin up to full speed and get very loud. At first, I thought it was overheating, but the fans definitely confirmed that. So I powered off the PC to protect the hardware.

I downloaded tools to monitor temperatures better, but only OCCT and HWInfo worked. I tried fixing things by updating graphics drivers, which helped a little, but the problem returned. I unplugged power from the motherboard, GPU, and PSU, then reconnected everything. I checked for physical damage but didn’t find anything obvious.

I ran DISM CheckHealth and Restore, which detected an error and tried to fix it. The error code was unclear, but it seemed resolved temporarily. I booted into Safe Mode, where the issue disappeared completely. There were strange warnings in Event Viewer around the time of black screens and fan behavior—like permission errors, registry issues, and COM server problems. Some entries looked odd but weren’t immediately actionable.

I tried restarting the PC, changing settings, and even searching for similar fixes online. Still, the screen would go black, fans would scream, and nothing would show up. It’s frustrating because it keeps coming back after changes.

Please let me know if any of this makes sense or if I missed something important. Your help would mean a lot.

Best,
Euphemia

Have you explored removing and resetting the GPU drivers with DDU?

You're not ready yet, but you have everything set up. Would you like to proceed? Thanks for taking the time to read and reply—I really value your feedback!

It's worth giving it a shot.

I just finished that process. I haven’t had the problem since, though it’s been only about five minutes and I’ve been idle. I’m planning to play a game and we’ll check. The issue stopped working an hour ago before, but it’s happened again before—even after 12 hours without it. I’m hoping it works this time, even if it doesn’t fix everything. Thank you sincerely! I really value your advice, even if it doesn’t solve the problem. Appreciate you taking the time!
