Someone else also observed the 6800H's performance. I noticed laptops featuring this chip in stores recently, prompting me to review benchmarks. The core remains unchanged—just DDR5 memory and a fourth-generation PCIe slot, plus an upgraded internal GPU. Performance stays consistent but at a higher price point. The DDR5 option is limited, with only one 32GB module available from Crutial in my region.

It's not an identical CPU. It features a reduced TDP, operates at 6nm instead of 7nm, and the changes you noted. The performance boost is around 5-10%, which still counts as improvement. Although the speed gain might be modest, the lower TDP matters a lot for laptops—it helps extend battery life and cuts heat significantly. This allows manufacturers to build quieter, thinner devices since they don’t need large cooling systems. The older model had decent performance but struggled with power use, and its built-in graphics weren’t impressive. Upgrading those weaknesses makes total sense.
