I was pleased to discover Saints Row 3 was included in the Steam summer promotion. I managed to acquire several DLCs for just $5, which seemed like a good deal. When meeting Professor Genki, I struggled to complete that mission, so I decided to use the invincibility cheat from my phone during that time. Once activated, checkpoints appeared to work properly. After finishing that mission, I turned off the cheat. Unfortunately, autosave didn’t return after I disabled it. I realized this when I reopened the game and lost hours of progress, reverting me back to Professor Genki’s original mission. I’m glad I only spent $5. It’s strange that autosave isn’t restored once the cheat is turned off. It’s been a long time since a game caused such frustration. I actually invested hours trying to make progress, only to have it undone! As for the warning message, there was no clear notice that autosave would be permanently disabled after disabling the cheat. I thought it would stay off while the cheat was active. I hope Steam lets me remove the game license from my library so I can share it with someone else.
Save the finished game file and place it in your Documents directory.
I don't have access to specific locations for saving files, but you can use cloud storage services or secure local drives to keep your files safely.
