I previously faced problems before and received some software recommendations, but after fixing them, I continued using my uncertain app. Now I’m searching for fresh options for Windows 10 security cameras. Right now I’m using dcs100 (d-viewcam) which works but often crashes and behaves oddly, especially against antivirus and malware programs. If anyone knows a better alternative that offers similar features but with stronger support, it would be great.

Blue Iris (licensed) or Shinobi (free open source) or simply an ONVIF manager if you only need to see the cameras.

Need a recording. Also, I’m still puzzled by why blue irises are considered bad even though some say otherwise.

Someone mentioned there was no support team at all, and only a little help available.

I've experienced success with Blue Iris. Initial configuration might be challenging, but once operational it functions smoothly. We both rely on the mobile app regularly, and it establishes connections instantly.

You're looking for help with troubleshooting issues. I can assist by checking forums or searching online. If you need support, consider joining Shionbi's Discord channel—it's quite active and the developers are friendly. Just note that Shinobi doesn't use a traditional UI; everything is web-based, which I prefer. Setting up isn't too complicated either, as Blue Iris provides many useful settings.

So perhaps I should give it a shot. It's not about needing help, but rather that a weak support team often points to a flawed product.
