safe overclock for i5 4690k
Hey Guys
Curious about the limits of this i5. Any advice would be really helpful. I plan to use Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and want to extract as much performance as possible safely. Thanks!
MAINGEAR PC
I5 - 4690K running at 3.9 GHz, 4 cores, stock cooling
MOBO - Gigabyte Z97MX - Gaming 5
16GB RAM DDR3
AMD RX 480 2GB GDDR5, stock clock settings
On that CPU 4.5~4.8Ghz is achievable. Just ensure your voltage stays under 1.35v and doesn't exceed 1.4v. You'll likely need a superior cooler than the standard one. Maybe a cryorig H7 or better would work.

With the stock cooler, you might achieve around 4.1Ghz, but you should keep an eye on temperatures. There are videos showing how to swap out the heatsink for the H7 if you're interested.
