Sabertooth X99 TUF + 5930K OC
Hey guys,
I've been going through a lot of articles and trying to improve my 5930K, but I'm facing a strange problem. I know TUF has features to boost longevity, but changing the Bclk always causes it to reset. I've tried adjusting it several times, but everything keeps coming back. It's working fine when posting, so I can see the issue. Anyone know what's going on?
Also, just a quick note—could you share some basic X99 specs for the 5930K? I've been curious about it and think it might help. (I'm watercooled, so heat isn't a concern.)
TeoDaTank asked about the bclk adjustments, mentioning possible values like 44x100 or 38x100 and noting the changes disappear quickly. They tried using an image but it didn't work, and referenced a change in the CPU first. The question also asks if the issue relates to CPU ratio or resetting.
Spectre694 :
You mentioned changing the CPU first then the base clock, or are you actually referring to the CPU ratio? If you calculated the CPU ratio and then adjusted the bclk, it might just be causing crashes and resets.
Now I'm a bit confused. I'll go through it again. I tried adjusting bClk but it was reverted.
Right now it's working at 4.4 GHZ, but my XMP Profile seems disabled (memory is very low).
I actually lost points on the benchmarker too.
The BioS for TUF isn't as efficient as ROG. :/

These are my CPU-Z post updates. It's stable now (with Prime installed).
It seems to downclock easily. My tablet-monitor (ARX Control) still shows 3.5GHZ, which isn't a big issue, I think.
I'll keep looking into the problem. The BIOS is really confusing because many options are on different screens and need to be enabled individually.
