s regarding overclocking RTX 2080
Hey everyone,
I just assembled my new PC and everything is going smoothly as I prefer. But I decided to test overclocking my GPU this time. I haven’t done it before since back in 2013 when my 16-year-old self broke it. I’m curious about a few things.
Is it even beneficial to overclock? My GPU already runs a bit faster than stock, and I haven’t really felt the urge yet, but I’ll give it a try if it improves performance.
What benchmark should I aim for with a 2080 model?
Would water cooling be necessary to notice any significant gains?
Thanks in advance!
performance matters a lot when it comes to graphics cards, and you might achieve a 400mhz+ boost with stock cooling. Overclocking a 1080 to nearly 2ghz can give an FPS increase of 13 or more in some situations. With liquid cooling, the gains can be even greater, as long as temperatures stay within limits. I believe it’s worth trying to overclock the card, regardless of its current speed—it could significantly improve your gaming experience. If you’re looking for a solid solution, I suggest using an MSI Afterburner and the OC Scanner, which will help you monitor and optimize your setup effectively.
