I recently switched to Windows 10 and faced some customization issues, especially with the Start Menu. There are two main problems: 1. I’m unsure how to pin a video there because right-clicking doesn’t let me add it like with apps or folders. 2. I need to resize a folder tile bigger than medium, but according to what I’ve read, only pinned apps can be resized to wide and large—pinning a folder limits you to small and medium sizes.

I solved it by setting up a quick way to launch CMD that opens the Avi file.

Universal Apps allow resizing beyond medium size since they often display information in different states (offline or active). This means apps like News, Weather, Mail, Calendar, and Groove Music show varying details depending on the selected size. Win32 applications lack this dynamic adjustment, and folders don’t offer changing information, making larger sizes unnecessary. There are only two standard options: Medium and Small. Files can’t be pinned in the Start Menu live tile area, so you need a script—such as a batch file—to execute the desired action.
