Using Windows 7 with your license and upgrading to Windows 10 works fine. However, if you wish to revert to Windows 8.1/7 after a month, you must obtain a fresh license.

Yes, if you dual boot and never use the 10 partition, it should remain active.

You can set up Windows 7 on that machine with that key. To remove it from the computer, open CMD as an administrator and run "slmgr /upk" without quotes. Once finished, you can transfer that key to another PC. After that, you can perform a clean installation of Windows 10, which will activate it.
