If your hard drive fails over a year after the upgrade, you likely won’t need to revert to Windows 7 unless specific issues arise.

I don't think so. They likely just change your activation code to W10.

You should find a method to generate your individual ISO using the credentials from your existing Windows 7 or 8.1 setup.
