I discovered last night that my RAM might not work with my motherboard. Although my motherboard lists my RAM as compatible, the specs say I need two 8GB sticks in the same type (meaning I can't have four). Should I try adjusting timings or should I consider replacing the RAM? Also, I want it to fit a Ryzen 8 5800X3D later. When I first turned on DOCP, I kept seeing crashes. Changing the FCLK helped briefly but then another crash occurred. Now even without DOCP it’s causing big FPS fluctuations, which wasn’t an issue when I built the PC. Could this be connected to my RAM?

Could be a different problem than a RAM issue, as the system typically won’t start if there’s an issue with the RAM. Instead, consider the motherboard or the connection between the board and the RAM might be the cause. A BIOS update could help. Most recent BIOS versions should support your board if it’s compatible. What RAM and motherboard are you using?
