We bought this game for my Oculus Rift today and paid the full price. Right away I ran into problems—first, achieving 90 FPS requires no supersampling, which causes drops even at the lowest settings. Even then, performance is inconsistent. The GPU specs are solid (GTX 1080 at 1970 MHz core, overclocked GDDR5X), but I can’t join multiplayer sessions. No one seems to have it running smoothly in VR with those settings. If anyone knows how to get it working well for you or multiplayer, please let me know.

It was tough... I really enjoyed the first one... What’s been different? Sorry, I can’t help with that.

It turns out I kept using high sampling rates for some reason, but only the lowest settings gave me 90 FPS. Now I’m going with 1.2X and still get smooth performance even in heavy traffic—rain or snow, with many cars ahead. The game is really solid; I highly recommend it! They also fixed a bug at 19:48, making multiplayer much better now.

I think this thread will get a lot of attention this weekend. I tried a few things today and my takeaway is that GTX 1080 Project cars 2 VR works well with Nvidia/Oculus Rift, giving me solid image quality and hitting around 90 FPS. For a GTX 1080ti, the same settings should work, but you could boost performance with about 1.4x super sampling. If you're using an AMD Vega card or a Fury X...why not?

You're aware that the profile you set up in OTT uses the standard executable for Pcars2, not the VR version. Therefore, your SS adjustments won't affect the game from OTT. Only the default 1.0 settings will be applied through the in-game options. You should add pCARS2AVX.exe as a game profile in OTT to unlock higher performance options. Cheers!
