We discussed Google's updates to Chrome and their impact on extensions and ad blockers. I use two tools: Ghoestery and Ad Blocker Plus. Recently, Pi Hole has caught my attention for several reasons. It lessens the load on Chrome, works across all my devices, offers possible security benefits, and might help with data limits. I’m also aware that blocking ads through Pi Hole could lower data consumption (we have a cap). However, I have some worries. First, we rely on Hulu Live for video services since we don’t have cable. I assume they’d block usage if an ad blocker is active, so I want to understand how straightforward it is to add domains to the white list. How simple is it to set up and adjust Pi Hole? How often should I update it? What hardware would it require? I’m considering a Raspberry Pi 3b+ model; I’ve heard Pi Hole runs lightly. This suggests a basic case with power supply might suffice, eliminating the need for heatsinks or fans. Regarding data savings, how significant could those be?
