Are these issues just a result of human players or something like 3-second breaches and kick calls? I've noticed the computer staying in the paint for about five seconds (based on the shot clock) and not getting penalized. I also think my team would likely get a D- or F because they’re defending poorly (opponents have open shots and aren’t pressured when they have the ball). The scoring scale (A+ to F) doesn’t really reflect performance well—losing points for letting defenders score while you don’t get credit for setting up your own goals is a big problem. Plus, deciding who to defend is confusing; once someone starts driving for a layup, the game dynamics shift completely, and your rating system becomes even less useful.
I've experienced many 14 hours of AI-driven games and encountered some rule issues, though they're not very common. The scoring method often depends on your character role (PG, C, F, etc.), so make sure you stick to the assigned role for a smooth rating experience.
I've spent a lot of time in the game, it has its issues but you shouldn't worry too much if you don't defend someone who was switched last second. I mostly play as PG so I can have more possession and make calls. Just aim to perform well and strive for an A+ rating to earn more SP, but don't focus too much on that. I also tend to commit a lot of fouls and out-of-bounds passes because I'm always trying to grab the ball.
I also find the positions confusing; I just chose something randomly. I tried two options: one player who shoots three-pointers well and can do it alone with great release (around 75), but keeps missing, and another with poor shot choices.
Gaining some knowledge about each position and the game rules will really help you understand basketball better. Unfortunately, it's not just a casual game. Personally, I think the point guard is the most versatile, offering a lot of opportunities to pass the ball and create chances. The shooting guard is also solid, providing good scoring options. The small forward adds versatility too, while the power forward can dominate in the paint.
