Yes, modifying yawspeed in the config file can lead to a ban on MW2/Steam. Another issue mentioned in the config examples is something else not specified here.

It seems most people aren't getting banned from MW2 across any platform. If you were cheating during launch, you're still doing it now regardless of your current setup. Treyarch will penalize you on BO2 for cheating, and mods will ban you from certain servers on BO1 and COD4. However, the old lobby matchmaking in IW games often ignores these issues even on consoles. I wouldn't be too concerned unless you find something confirming it online.

I’m not allowed to play that game anymore. It was my first serious PC game, and I used to play it daily after school. Now it remains my favorite one, even after all these years. Do you really think people still care about VAC?

That’s quite unique among Minecraft mods—most bans involve technical issues or content restrictions. What made it different?

I used to enjoy the game when everyone else relied on cheats or exploits. To keep playing my preferred mode (hardcore), I needed a wallhack. It worked for a while, but eventually I grew tired of the experience and reached out to someone who had an aimbot. They provided me with a copy, though they cautioned it could be detected by VAC. I didn’t mind, so I continued playing for a short time.
