Hey there, I'm planning to upgrade my PC with new RAM, a new motherboard, and a new CPU. I currently have a GTX 10606 GB RAM and 24 GB of RAM. Since I'm mainly into gaming, I'm looking for the best performance possible. I was considering the I7 9700K but realized I need top-tier speeds. My GPU isn't the strongest, so I want high FPS in fast-paced games like Fortnite, CS:GO, and others. I also want strong performance in titles such as Tomb Raider at full settings or Star Wars: The Force Awakens. What do you think?
I’d hold off until I can observe the upcoming 10th generation Intel products, since single-core performance on those chips is expected to be remarkable.
This Ryzen 5 3600 offers great value with a solid cooler and performance close to the 9700K in both single and multi-core situations. The QMD CPU also stays cooler, consumes less power, and avoids the recurring Intel security problems.
