The new PCs allow BitLocker to activate automatically or just when you enable the recovery feature. When BitLocker is active for safeguarding recovery images, it encrypts the snapshots specifically, not the whole system.

Windows 11 can have Bitlocker enabled right out of the box. It works even on systems that aren’t Copilot+ or laptop versions with full capabilities. Bitlocker encrypts the entire drive, not just individual files and folders—this is typical for Microsoft’s built-in security features. Look at your other Bitlocker discussion you’ve set up.

I strongly dislike Bitlocker—it's just another example of poorly designed software that creates more issues than it solves. Particularly for people unfamiliar with it or those who attempt to use it, it often becomes a hindrance.
