I've owned BF4 since it arrived with my R9 290 about a year ago. Recently, I began playing multiplayer (16 hours played, rank 12, skill 159) and have a few beginner questions for more experienced players here.

1. When I fire at an enemy, the indicator shows I'm hitting, but after several shots nothing happens. He turns around and fires back, and I hear a "plop"-sound. After three hits, I usually die. Even though his health is still above 50, I've hit him multiple times while using almost half a mag. Is this typical?

2. I can't save my loadout in BattleLog. After changing attachments and accessories, applying changes, and entering a game, nothing updates and I keep using my old setup. Every time I join a server, I have to change the loadout again. Is this a problem with BattleLog or something I'm doing wrong? I really need help with these issues.

I'm not entirely confident about your initial concern, but for loadouts, just adjust them while playing—it'll be more efficient.

He’s a lot higher than you think, so he definitely has better equipment—tough to get through early. That’s strange but works for me.

Which weapons are you employing? Certain arms inflict significantly reduced harm from a distance, and should he attain the defensive field upgrade route, he’ll gain some shielding.

Regarding the first question, there are three potential responses: 1) It seems like you missed hitting him five times, but in reality it's fewer and other bullets aren't on target; 2) Your connection has a higher ping than the opponent's, which means your shots aren't being recorded; 3) This is BF, you can't make it work as it should... For the second point, you cannot adjust your loadout during battle log in-game; you must restart the game. If this happens even after starting the game after applying the loadout, refer to the third point above.

It could happen because the bullets start dispersing after a few rounds. I fire about four shots, get cover, pause briefly, then continue firing again. 2. That's essentially Battlelog in simple terms.

I understand your perspective completely. I’d wipe everything clean and they’d spring back with some energy, then someone suggested going hardcore which balanced things out. Since then, I’ve consistently performed well.

Your setup doesn’t seem to be working as expected. Are you trying to save in the browser?

Unclear what specific equipment you're referring to. You're using the M416 and notice higher damage from bulldog variants, possibly around ten more. Are you talking about body armor protection? Mostly rely on the M416 with red dot and magnifier. With limited reaction time, I aim for the chest rather than the head, which saves a few seconds. If opponents have upgrades reducing vulnerability to chest hits, that would help. On the servers I play, most players are rank 100+, while I'm 12. Some points: 1. You see the small X around the reticle after each hit—this appears for about five shots but doesn’t inflict much damage. 2. My ping is around 30, rarely exceeding 45. 3. I recently went through the campaign a second time; the first run was fine, but the second on harder difficulty was very tough and made me quit. They definitely have this issue. Another concern is that skilled enemies tend to move sideways when they start firing back, which isn’t fully ingrained yet. Still, I usually land at least five hits before dying, as shown by the X in the reticle. 1. Never tried hardcore mode—what does it do? 2. Yes, it works in a browser version.

It's typical for regular servers. On average, it takes about 5 to 15 hits (3 to the head) to eliminate a player in BF4. On high-rank servers it's significantly lower. The type of weapon you choose also matters, though pros can make any weapon seem effective.

Core features of the game: - 60% player health - No 3D targeting, occasionally missing minimap - No crosshair indicators for weapons, just iron sight, range finders, or scope. - Team damage on
