Hello! I’m looking to upgrade my PC and have a Ryzen 5 3600x. I’m wondering whether it’s better to stick with the original thermal paste from the Wraith cooler or replace it with a new aftermarket paste. I also had some issues with my CPU’s temperature because the original paste wasn’t working well, so I’m seeking advice.

For everyday use, a standard paste is enough. Keep thermal paste on your cooler, but avoid overuse. A teaspoon-sized amount (similar to toothpaste) works well in most situations.

Stock paste works well for regular stock builds. For pushing performance beyond limits, invest in a custom cooler and Kryonaut paste.

I use a cross pattern while applying paste on my Ryzen. The pea method isn't enough for me. It's okay if it's too much, but too little causes issues. The extra paste will push out through the sides due to the pressure from the HSF being tightened. Using the stock cooler works, though it's not ideal. I found it a bit too noisy for my taste.
