This image serves as an example. I’m having trouble capturing the screenshot after launching Afterburner. Pressing Win + PS sometimes doesn’t work. FPS drops to around 60-70 (half of what I normally get). CPU usage stays between 50-100%, while GPU usage is only 50-60%. This is where the issue begins. Usually this kind of behavior is normal, but my minimum FPS is about 110, which causes choppiness and stuttering. When CPU usage hits 100%, GPU performance drops to just 50%. My game feels stuttering and drops to 67fps. I’m not sure if the problem lies with my CPU or GPU.

Problem identified. Frame time is between 5ms and 8.0ms. CPU usage above 100% often causes timing issues, making it hard to verify frame time accurately.

Are there any background processes active? Most games won’t heavily strain a 6/12 chip, but pushing it to higher speeds could work. It seems it’s currently running at its default frequency of 3600MHz, and you might be able to boost it to 3.9 to 4GHz.

I noticed the prompt when trying to shut down my PC displays "Turn off and update." Windows updates can impact CPU usage as well. The game runs poorly, with no active updates. Only the wallpaper engine and Discord are running. Afterburner is tracking my system load. I’m unsure how to enable overclocking and the temperature hits 80+ when it reaches 3.8, based on a 3DMark test.

Windows updates can influence CPU usage, while the wallpaper engine may impact performance, particularly with animated backgrounds. I previously used it but experienced negative effects on gaming. It's an enjoyable app, though not ideal for gamers. Turn off WE and ensure Windows isn't updating, then share your results.

Yesterday there was no change, but the situation remains unchanged. The issue is that my frame rate is lower than expected, making the gameplay feel unstable. Is my system running at 2666MHz and my CPU not powerful enough for all games?

We've faced similar situations before, and it seems your current results aren't meeting expectations. Upgrading to a 3600 might be the best next step for you.

Previously, with a 1060 3GB model, I was also using it. Just for reference. It runs smoothly compared to my RTX now. I remember the last time the GPU required more effort than the CPU. I plan to try that first and share my thoughts later. Tomorrow I’ll send another update on my gaming experience.

I understand this. It's strange when my frame rate fluctuates between 60-80fps for a few seconds then jumps back up to over 100fps again. I also struggle to play CSGO smoothly, seeing many discussions about performance issues like lag, stutter, and low FPS. It might be the game engine itself causing the problems.

Considering a full gaming setup, should I opt for an Intel i7 8700K and replace the motherboard? Or switch to a stronger Ryzen processor? Either way, increasing GPU usage could be beneficial for performance, but both options come with a cost that needs to be managed financially.
