I wouldn't consider anything lower than a Ryzen 3600. The upcoming consoles should feature an 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen processor, which would allow games to utilize more threads and perform better compared to previous systems and the weaker Jaguar CPU found in some models.

The 3600 is a strong CPU, and it's hard to predict what will happen with the upcoming 4000 series. I might trade in my 3600x for the new 8-core model when it arrives. I’m happy with my 3600x for gaming—it’s performed well.
